NELC's Deputy Director, Clare, is the Newcastle Law Society Deputy Vice Chair.


Clare was welcomed as the new Deputy Vice Chair earlier this week.

North East Law Centre's Deputy Centre Director, Clare Hurst, was welcomed as the new Deputy Vice President of the Newcastle Upon Tyne Law Society at their 154th Annual General Meeting this earlier this week.


The Newcastle upon Tyne Law Society is a professional association for solicitors, you can learn more about their work here.

Clare has been part of the NELC Team for almost 20 years and specialises in asylum, immigration and human rights law. Clare has been central to the progression of NELC, including the development of partnership projects such as the Justice Together North East Partnership.  Following her appointment, Clare shared her delight to have been elected as the Deputy Vice President of the Newcastle Law Society, and added that "it is a real honour to represent the Law Centre in such an important role and I look forward to working with the members and wider profession to raise awareness of social justice issues in the North East and beyond."
